Seminar: “Urban Distribution in Cold Chain” , Onur Açıkel

On November 2, 2015, Unilever – Algida İzmir Chain Stores Manager Mr.Onur Açıkel gave a seminar titled “Urban Distribution in Cold Chain” to students in LOGI 461 City Logistics course.  In the scope of the seminar, urban fright distribution processes were analyzed and pressure created on marketing decisions at urban distribution points by logistics were discussed . Algida’s self point distribution processes, approaches to different market divisions, smart transportation systems used in urban distribution and key points in fleet distribution planning were also discussed. Consequently, the students had the opportunity to observe how general fright and individual cargo distribution in city logistics differentiates from cold chains and analyze the differences between point distribution systems and centralized distribution systems.
