1st İzmir Grand Science Slam

On Tuesday, 1st of March from 2pm to 4pm in the Entrance Floor Conference Hall of the New Building (A010), our University will host the İzmir Final of “Grand Science Slam TURKEY 2016,” in which scholars compete to present their research to a live audience in an engaging and entertaining manner.

The winner of the İzmir Competition Final, in which a representative of each of the İzmir universities will take part, will win the right to participate in the Turkish National Final to be held at the German Embassy’s premises in Tarabya, İstanbul, along with winners from the five other participating cities.  The winner of the National Final of the Competition, held under the sponsorship of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, will win a trip to Berlin.

Academic and administrative staff, undergraduate and graduate students who would like to represent our University in this competition may apply by sending an email stating their desire to participate in the 1st Izmir Science Slam competition and including the title of their presentation by Monday, 2nd of February, 2016 to the following addresses:  [email protected] and [email protected].

A workshop entitled “How To Present an Academic Topic in 10 Minutes” will be held on Friday, 26th of February from 2 to 5pm in the Entrance Floor Conference Hall of the New Building (A010).  The purpose of this workshop is to provide necessary information for those who will go on to participate in the Izmir Final, which will be held on Tuesday 1st of March,2016  from 2 to 4pm in the same location.  All academic and administrative personnel and undergraduate and graduate students and their friends and relatives of all ages are very welcome to attend the Final as part of the audience.
